NF VALIDATION (Food): Technical Board of July 2017

As of July 4th 2017, 136 alternative methods for microbiological food analysis are certified NF VALIDATION : 100 are validated according to the protocol EN ISO 16140: 2003 and 36 according to the protocol EN ISO 16140-2: 2016. Two methods for the detection of antibiotics residues in food are validated according to the NF VALIDATION specific protocol.

During his meeting held on July 3rd and 4th 2017, the NF VALIDATION Technical Board (Application to agribusiness) approved by vote:

– The validation (according to EN ISO 16140-2:2016 protocol) of SalmoPresto PE (Prestodiag) for the detection of Salmonella spp. in egg products.

– The validation extensions of the following methods: GENE-UP Salmonella, GENE-UP Listeria spp. and GENE-UP Listeria monocytogenes (bioMérieux) for update of GENE-UP software’s version to version 2.0 ; ANSR for Salmonella (Neogen Europe) extended to all human food products and animal feed.

– The validation renewals (according to EN ISO 16140-2:2016 protocol) of Solus Salmonella ELISA and Solus Listeria ELISA (Solus Scientific).

NF VALIDATION (Food): Technical Board of May 2017

As of May 19th 2017, 135 alternative methods for microbiological food analysis are certified NF VALIDATION : 102 are validated according to the protocol EN ISO 16140: 2003 and 33 according to the protocol EN ISO 16140-2: 2016. Two methods for the detection of antibiotics residues in food are validated according to the NF VALIDATION specific protocol.

During his meeting held on May 18th and 19th 2017, the NF VALIDATION Technical Board (Application to agribusiness) approved by vote:

– The validations (according to EN ISO 16140-2:2016 protocol) of the following methods: 3M Molecular Detection 2 – E. coli O157 (including H7) (3M Health Care) for the detection of E. coli O157 in raw beef meats, raw dairy products, and raw fruits & vegetables; QIAGEN mericon Manual Listeria monocytogenes (QIAGEN GmbH) for the detection of Listeria monocytogenes in meats products and dairy products.

– The validation extensions of the following methods: SALMA One Day (bioMérieux) extended to the analysis of infant formula powders and associated raw materials (50g) and production environmental samples from surface area; ANSR for Listeria  (Neogen Europe) for a modification on the amplification step with update of ANSR software to version 1.8.3 .

– The validation renewals (according to EN ISO 16140-2:2016 protocol) of AdiaFood Cronobacter spp. (bioMérieux), AL Detection (Bio-Rad) and QIAGEN mericon Salmonella (QIAGEN GmbH).

As of March 24th 2016, 134 alternative methods for microbiological food analysis are certified NF VALIDATION : 106 are validated according to the protocol EN ISO 16140: 2003 and 28 according to the protocol EN ISO 16140-2: 2016. Two methods for the detection of antibiotics residues in food are validated according to the NF VALIDATION specific protocol.

During his meeting held on March 23rd and 24th 2016, the NF VALIDATION Technical Board (Application to agribusiness) approved by vote:

– The validation (according to the protocol EN ISO 16140-2:2016) of SALMA One Day  (bioMérieux) for the detection of Salmonella spp. in all human food and animal feed products.

– The validation extension of GENE-UP Salmonella (bioMérieux) to all human food products and production environmental samples (new protocols with an enrichment step at 37°C).

– The validation extension of Thermo Scientific SureTect Salmonella species PCR Assay (Oxoid Thermo Fisher Scientific) for the use of ABI 7500 Fast instrument with ABI RapidFinder Express software V2.0 for the analysis of “seafood and vegetables”, with update of the validation study accoding to the protocol EN ISO 16140-2:2016.

– The validation renewals (according to the protocol EN ISO 16140-2:2016) of ANSR pour Salmonella (Neogen Europe) and Listeria Precis Detection (Oxoid Thermo Fisher Scientific).

Two methods for the detection of antibiotics residues in food are validated according to the NF VALIDATION specific protocol.

During its meeting held on January 26th and 27th 2016, the NF VALIDATION “Technical Board – Food Microbiology” approved by vote:

– The validations (according to the validation protocol EN ISO 16140-2:2016) of three methods: BACGene Listeria spp. + BACGene Listeria Multiplex (Eurofins GeneScan) for the detection of Listeria spp. in all human food products and production environmental samples, BACGene Listeria monocytogenes + BACGene Listeria Multiplex (Eurofins GeneScan) for the detection of Listeria monocytogenes in all human food products and production environmental samples, and BACSpec Listeria (Eurofins GeneScan) for the detection of Listeria spp. in all human food products and production environmental samples.

– The extension of the scope of GENE-UP Listeria monocytogenes (bioMérieux) to all human food products and production environmental samples.

– The validation renewals (according to the validation protocol EN ISO 16140-2:2016) of TEMPO EC (bioMérieux) and iQ-Check Cronobacter spp. (BIO-RAD).

Two methods for the detection of antibiotics residues in food are validated according to the NF VALIDATION specific protocol.

During its meeting held on November 24th and 25th 2016, the NF VALIDATION “Technical Board – Food Microbiology” approved by vote:

– The validations (according to the validation protocol NF EN ISO 16140-2:2016) of three methods: 3M Molecular Detection Assay 2 – Salmonella  (3M Health Care) for the detection of Salmonella spp. in all human food and production environmental samples (excluding primary production environment), 3M Petrifilm Rapid Aerobic Count Plate (3M Health Care) for the enumeration of mesophilic aerobic flora in milk powders and dairy products and GENE-UP Listeria monocytogenes (bioMérieux) for the detection of Listeria monocytogenes in meat and dairy products.

– The following validation extension: scope of GENE-UP Listeria spp. (bioMérieux) extended to all human food products and production environmental samples.

– The following validation renewals according to validation protocol NF EN ISO 16140-2:2016 for the methods: GeneDisc Salmonella spp. and GeneDisc E. coli O157 :H7 (PALL GeneDisc Technologies).

As of September 30th 2016, 126 alternative methods for microbiological food analysis are certified NF VALIDATION : 114 are validated according to the protocol EN/ISO 16140:2003 and 12 according to the protocol EN/ISO 16140-2:2016. Two methods for the detection of antibiotics residues in food are validated according to the NF VALIDATION specific protocol.

During its meeting held on September 29th and 30th 2016, the NF VALIDATION “Technical Board – Food Microbiology” approved by vote:

– The validations (according to the protocol NF EN ISO 16140-2:2016) of two methods: 3M Molecular Detection Assay 2 – Listeria monocytogenes (3M Health Care) for the detection of Listeria monocytogenes in all human food and production environmental samples, GENE-UP Listeria spp. (bioMérieux) for the detection of Listeria spp. (excluding Listeria grayi) in meat and dairy products.

– The following validation extensions: scope of GENE-UP Salmonella (bioMérieux) extended to “all human food products”; validation of a new protocol specific to “composite foods” for LUMIPROBE 24 Listeria monocytogenes (Europrobe).

During its meeting held on June 30th and July 1st 2016, the NF VALIDATION “Technical Board – Food Microbiology” approved by vote:

– The validations according to the protocol ISO 16140-2:2016 of GENE-UP Salmonella (bioMérieux) for the detection of Salmonella spp. in meat products, and ready-to-eat and ready-to-reheat food products, LESS Plus for Listeria + ANSR for Listeria or culture media and LESS Plus for Listeria monocytogenes + ANSR for Listeria monocytogenes or culture media (NEOGEN Europe Ltd) for the detection of Listeria spp. or Listeria monocytogenes in all human food products and production environmental samples.

– The validation extensions of the following methods for OXOID Thermo Fisher Scientific: Thermo Scientific SureTect Listeria species PCR Assay and Thermo Scientific SureTect Listeria monocytogenes PCR Assay for the use of ABI 7500 Fast instrument and its RapidFinder Express software V2.0, Thermo Scientific SureTect Cronobacter species PCR Assay for a new protocol for powdered infant formula (300g) and the use of ABI 7500 Fast instrument and its RapidFinder Express software V2.0, Thermo Scientific SureTect Salmonella species PCR Assay for a new enrichment protocol for dairy products and the use of ABI 7500 Fast instrument and its RapidFinder Express software V2.0.

– The validation renewals according to the protocol EN/ISO 16140:2003 of 3M Petrifilm Rapid Coliform Count Plate, 3M Petrifilm Select E. coli Count Plate, 3M Molecular Detection Assay for Salmonella, 3M Molecular Detection Assay E. coli O157 (3M Health Care), ALOA One Day (bioMérieux). For VIDAS Listeria monocytogenes II (LMO2) (bioMérieux), the validation renewal has been performed according to the protocol ISO 16140-2:2016.

NF VALIDATION: News as of June 2016 for the water domain

As of June 1st, 2016, 15 methods for microbiological analysis in water are certified NF VALIDATION. The qPCR kits for Legionella qualitative and quantitative detection are certified according to a protocol based on NF T90-471 and ISO/TS 12869 standards. The other methods are certified according to a technical protocol, developed by AFNOR Certification and based on the comparison of an alternative method to a standard method.

During its meeting held on June 1st, 2016, the NF VALIDATION “Technical Board – Water General protocol” approved by vote the validation renewals of the following methods: MWY Legionella Agar (bioMérieux), Colilert-18 / Quanti-Tray or Quanti-Tray 2000 – Bathing waters (IDEXX Laboratories) and COMPASS cc Agar (SOLABIA).

May 2016: New methods certified NF VALIDATION !

As of May 18th 2016, 123 alternative methods for microbiological food analysis are certified NF VALIDATION (among which 117 validated according to the standard protocol EN/ISO 16140:2003 and 6 methods validated according to the standard project ISO/FDIS 16140-2:2015). Three methods for the detection of antibiotics residues in food are also validated according to an NF VALIDATION specific protocol.

During its meeting held on May 17th and 18th 2016, the NF VALIDATION “Technical Board – Food Microbiology” approved by vote:

– The validation of 3M Molecular Detection Assay 2 – Listeria (3M Health Care) for the detection of Listeria spp. in all human food and industrial environmental samples according to the validation protocol ISO/FDIS 16140-2:2016.

– The validation renewal (without modification) of Simple Method for Salmonella method (bioMérieux) according to the validation protocol EN/ISO 16140:2003.
