NF VALIDATION: some news in food microbiology

As of January 29th 2015, 121 alternative methods for microbiological food analysis are certified NF VALIDATION (among which 117 validated according to the standard protocol EN/ISO 16140:2003 and 4 methods validated according to the standard project ISO/FDIS 16140-2:2015). Three methods for the detection of antibiotics residues in food are validated according to an NF VALIDATION specific protocol.

During its meeting held on January 28th and 29th 2016, the NF VALIDATION “Technical Board – Food Microbiology” approved by vote:

– The validation of ANSR for Listeria (NEOGEN Europe Ltd) for the detection of Listeria spp. in all human food products and industrial environmental samples according to the new protocol ISO/FDIS 16140-2 protocol.

– The validation extensions of the following methods: EASY STAPH (SOLABIA) for all human food products , BAX System PCR Assay for E. coli O157:H7 and BAX System PCR Assay for Salmonella spp. (DuPont Nutrition & Health) for the use of the BAX Sytem X5 with its software 1.0, Thermo Scientific SureTect Escherichia coli O157:H7 (OXOID Thermo Fisher Scientific) for the use of the ABI 7500 Fast RT-PCR system with the RapidFinder Express 2.0 software, and VIDAS LMO2 (bioMérieux) for a new enrichment protocol at 30°C using LPT broth for the analysis of meat products, dairy products and seafood products.

– The validation renewal (without modification) of the Delvotest T method (DSM Food specialties).
