NF VALIDATION (Food): News of July 2018

As of July 3rd, 2018, 132 alternative methods for microbiological analysis in food are certified NF VALIDATION, validated according to the protocol EN ISO 16140: 2003 or its new version EN ISO 16140-2: 2016. The update of the files is done gradually, on the occasion of renewals or extensions. The end of transition is scheduled for 2021. In the meantime, the 2 types of certificates are still valid.

In addition, 2 methods for the detection of antibiotics residues in food are validated according to the Validation protocol antibiotics of AFNOR Certification.

Following the positive agreement of the Technical Board (TC) expressed during its meeting held on 2nd and 3rd of July 2018, AFNOR Certification approved:

  • The certification extensions for GENE-UP Cronobacter spp. (bioMérieux) for new analysis protocols (in particular with 375g sample size) and for Assurance GDS Salmonella (Biocontrol Systems) for new protocols in 375g sample size specific to milk powders, infant formula and cereals.
  • The certification renewals (according to the new EN ISO 16140-2: 2016) of 3M Petrifilm Rapid Yeast and Mold Count Plate (3M Health Care), BACARA (bioMérieux) and RAPID’Campylobacter (BIO-RAD).

  • 2018: October 4th & 5th, December 3rd & 4th.
  • 2019: January 31st & February 1st, March 21st & 22nd, May 16th & 17th, July 3rd & 4th, October 3rd & 4th, November 28th & 29th.
