NF VALIDATION (Food): what’s new for July 2025!

On 2nd July 2025, the NF VALIDATION mark was awarded to 142 food microbiology analysis methods, validated according to the EN ISO 16140-2: 2016 protocol.

In addition, 2 antibiotic residue screening methods have been validated in accordance with the AFNOR Certification antibiotic validation protocol.

On the advice and recommendations of the Food Technical Board (relative majority vote) of the NF VALIDATION mark of 1st and 2nd July 2025, AFNOR Certification has approved :

The validation of the EZ-Check Salmonella spp. method for the company BIO-RAD.

🎉 Congratulations to BIO-RAD for this new NF VALIDATION certified method. The certificates and summary report will be available as soon as the documentation has been validated.

Renewal of the VIDAS® Easy Salmonella (bioMérieux), Neogen® Petrifilm® Aerobic Count Plate, Neogen® Petrifilm® Enterobactariaceae Count Plate (NEOGEN Food Safety Corporation) and RAPID’L. monocytogenes (enumeration) (BIO-RAD) methods.

The extension of the :

◾ GENE-UP® Salmonella to enable the use of a new automated lysis protocol applied to chocolates and confectionery with a 375 g test sample (bioMérieux),

◾ Neogen® Petrifilm® Aerobic Count Plate, Neogen® Petrifilm® Staph Express System (A and B), Neogen® Petrifilm® Rapid Yeast and Mold Count Plate, Neogen® Petrifilm® Select E. coli Count Plate, Neogen® Petrifilm® Enterobacteriaceae Count Plate to enable the use of Petrifilm Plate Reader Advanced (PPRA) for plate reading (validated version 4.1) (NEOGEN Food Safety Corporation),

◾ Neogen® Petrifilm® Select E. coli Count Plate, Neogen® Petrifilm® Enterobacteriaceae Count Plate, Neogen® Petrifilm® Staph Express System (A and B) and Neogen® Petrifilm® Aerobic Count Plate to enable the use of the One Plate for testing (NEOGEN Food Safety Corporation),

◾ RAPID’Salmonella for the addition of a new specific enrichment protocol for the ‘chocolates and chocolate products for test samples up to 375g’ category (BIO-RAD).

The modification of the Assurance® GDS for Salmonella Tq, Assurance® GDS MPX for Top 7 STEC, Assurance® MPX ID for STEC and Assurance® GDS EHEC ID for E. coli O157:H7 Tq methods for the use of an automated protocol via the Assurance® GDS PickPen® PipetMax® instrument (Millipore SAS – Merck group).
