On September 24th, 2025, the NF VALIDATION brand was awarded to 14 water microbiology analysis methods. The kits for detection and quantification of Legionella by PCR are validated according to the protocols of standards NF T90-471 and ISO/TS 12869. Other methods are validated in accordance with the technical protocol drawn up by AFNOR Certification, which involves comparing the performance of an alternative method with that of a reference method.
Following a positive recommendation from the NF VALIDATION Water Technical Committee on 24 September 2025, AFNOR Certification has approved:
- The renewal of the alternative method XplOrer64™/CheckN’Safe™ Enterococci from BIO-RAD.
- The modification of the iQ-Check® Legionella pneumophila and iQ-Check® Legionella spp. methods from BIO-RAD. It allows to the use of the new version of CFX Maestro Industrial Diagnostic Edition (IDE) software version 4.0.
The next meeting of the Water Technical Committee will take place on Wednesday 14 January 2026.
