NF VALIDATION (Food): what’s new for October 2025!

On October 3rd, 2025, the NF VALIDATION mark was awarded to 142 food microbiology analysis methods, validated according to the ISO 16140-2: 2016 protocol.

In addition, 2 antibiotic residue screening methods have been validated in accordance with the AFNOR Certification antibiotic validation protocol.

On the advice and recommendations of the Food Technical Board (relative majority vote) of the NF VALIDATION brand of 2 and 3 October 2025, AFNOR Certification has approved :

The renewal of TEMPO® TC (bioMérieux), LUMIprobe 24 Listeria monocytogenes (EUROPROBE), Thermo Scientific™ SureTect™ Listeria monocytogenes PCR Assay, Thermo Scientific™ SureTect™ Listeria species PCR Assay, Thermo Scientific™ SureTect™ Salmonella species PCR Assay (OXOID SAS), Neogen® Petrifilm® Lactic Acid Bacteria Count Plate (NEOGEN Food Safety Corporation), RAPID’Enterobacteriaceae and RAPID’Salmonella (BIO-RAD) alternativ methods.

The extension of the following alternative methods:

◾ REBECCA™ base et REBECCA™ + EB, REBECCA™ + EB, ChromID Coli® (37°C – E. coli), ChromID Coli® (37°C – Coliformes) and ChromID Coli® (44°C – E. coli) (bioMérieux) to enable the counting of colonies on a single plate,

◾ RAPID’E. coli 2 (44°C), RAPID’E. coli 2 (E.coli 37°C), RAPID’E. coli 2 (Coliformes 37°C), RAPID’B.cereus and RAPID’Enterobacteriaceae (BIO-RAD) to enable the counting of colonies on a single plate,

◾EZ-Check Salmonella spp. (BIO-RAD) to allow the use of a new specific enrichment protocol for the category ‘chocolates and chocolate products for test samples up to 375g’,

The modification of the EZ-Check Salmonella spp. method (BIO-RAD) to enable the addition of the iQ-Check® Prep System v5 automated instrument to the scope of instruments covered by the EZ-Check Salmonella spp. method.

10 and 11 December 2025.

Then in 2026 on 29 and 30 January, 1 and 2 April, 24 and 25 June, 30 September and 1 October, and finally on 3 and 4 December.
