NF VALIDATION (Food): what’s new in October 2024!

On 8 October 2024, the NF VALIDATION mark was awarded to 129 food microbiology analysis methods, validated according to the EN ISO 16140-2: 2016 protocol.

In addition, 3 antibiotic residue screening methods have been validated in accordance with AFNOR Certification’s  antibiotic validation protocol.

Following the positive opinion of the NF VALIDATION mark’s Agri-food Technical Board on 2 and 3 October 2024, AFNOR Certification approved :

  • The renewal of methods GENE-UP® Listeria monocytogenes (bioMérieux), BAX® System RT PCR Assays for STEC Suite and BAX® System Real-Time PCR Assays for E. coli (HYGIENA LLC), Neogen® Molecular Detection Assay 2 – Salmonella, Neogen® Petrifilm® Rapid Aerobic Count Plate (NEOGEN Food Safety Corporation), RAPID’E. coli 2 (44°C), RAPID’E. coli 2 (E. coli 37°C), RAPID’E. coli (coliforms 37°C) (BIO-RAD), Thermo Scientific™ SureTect™ STEC Screening PCR Assay and Thermo Scientific™ SureTect™ STEC Identification PCR Assay (OXOID Thermo Fisher) and Méthode CSD (SOLABIA SAS).

 

  • The extension of methods :

GENE-UP® Listeria monocytogenes for the use of a new enrichment protocol intended for raw milk with enrichment in LX broth and GENE-UP® Salmonella spp. (bioMérieux) for the use of a pre-treatment (BACTVIAB® PMAxx™) of the sample to remove free DNA and DNA from dead cells before the PCR detection step for samples from the production environment.

Neogen® Molecular Detection Assay 2 – Listeria monocytogenes (NEOGEN Food Safety Corporation) for the use of Less plus for the enrichment of meat products (25g), dairy products (25g) and seafood and fish products (25g).

iQ-Check Listeria monocytogenes II and iQ-Check Listeria spp. (BIO-RAD) for the addition of a new specific enrichment protocol for the ‘Meat and poultry products’ category.
