NF Validation (Food) : News of December 2018

As of January 18th, 134 alternative methods for microbiological analysis in food are certified NF VALIDATION, validated according to the protocol EN ISO 16140: 2003 or its new version EN ISO 16140-2: 2016. The update of the files is done gradually, on the occasion of renewals or extensions. The end of transition is scheduled for 2021. In the meantime, the 2 types of certificates are still valid.

In addition, 2 methods for the detection of antibiotics residues in food are validated according to the Validation protocol antibiotics of AFNOR Certification.

Following the positive agreement of the Technical Board (TC) expressed during its meeting held on 3rd and 4th of December 2018, AFNOR Certification approved:

  • The validation of two alternative methods :  Solus One Salmonella (Solus Scientific) for the detection of Salmonella, Symphony Agar (Solabia SAS) for the enumeration of yeasts and molds.
  • The certification extensions for Thermo Scientific SureTect Salmonella species PCR Assay and Thermo Scientific SureTect Cronobacter species PCR Assay (Oxoid Thermo Fisher Scientific) for the possibility to use the QuantStudio 5 RT-PCR instrument with the RapidFinder Analysis software v1.0, Thermo Scientific RapidFinder Salmonella species, Typhimurium and Enteridis Multiplex PCR Assay (Oxoid Thermo Fisher Scientific) for the analysis of primary production environmental samples, GENE-UP Salmonella, GENE-UP Listeria spp. et GENE-UP Listeria monocytogenes (bioMérieux) for the validation of a new kit PCR format (unit doses) and the upgrade to v3.0 of the GENE-UP Routine software.
  • The certification renewals (according to the new EN ISO 16140-2: 2016) of MicroSEQ® Salmonella spp. and Listeria Precis (enumeration) (Oxoid Thermo Fisher Scientific), TEMPO EB (bioMérieux), GeneDisc Listeria monocytogenes and GeneDisc Listeria spp. (Pall GeneDisc Technologies), chromID™ Coli Agar (37°C – Coliformes), chromID™ Coli Agar (37°C – E.Coli) and chromID™ Coli Agar (44°C – E.Coli) (bioMérieux).
