NF VALIDATION (Food) : News of October 2020

As of October 13th 2020, 140 alternative methods for microbiological analysis in food are certified NF VALIDATION, validated according to the protocol EN ISO 16140: 2003 or its new version EN ISO 16140-2: 2016. The update of the files is done gradually, on the occasion of renewals or extensions. The end of transition is scheduled for 2021. In the meantime, the 2 types of certificates are still valid.

In addition, 5 methods for the detection of antibiotics residues in food are validated according to the Validation protocol antibiotics of AFNOR Certification.

Following the positive agreement of the Technical Board (TC) expressed during its meeting held on 1st and 2nd October 2020, AFNOR Certification approved:

  • The certification validation for IDEXX SNAPduo ST Plus Test (IDEXX Laboratories) for the detection of beta-lactams residues and tetracycline in raw commingled and individual cow milk and Thermo Scientific™ SureTect™ STEC Screening PCR Assay and Thermo Scientific™ SureTect™ STEC Identification PCR Assay (OXOID Thermo Fisher Scientific) for the detection of shiga-toxin-producing Escherichia coli (O26, O103, O111, O145 and O157 serogroups).
  • The certification extensions for : RAPID’Salmonella (BIO-RAD) in order to validate the analysis of infant formula and infant cereals (375g),  Salmonella Precis and Thermo Scientific™ SureTect™ Salmonella species PCR Assay (OXOID Thermo Fisher Scientific) respectively for the validation of a new enrichment protocol using BPW and analysis of cocoa and chocolates (375g).
  •  The certification renewals (according to the new EN ISO 16140-2: 2016) of GENE-UP® Listeria spp.(bioMérieux), iQ-Check Salmonella II, iQ-Check E.coli O157:H7, RAPID’E. coli 2 (44°C), RAPID’E.coli (37°C)  and RAPID’E. coli 2 (Coliformes 37°C) (Bio-Rad), 3M™ Molecular Detection Assay 2 – Salmonella and 3M Petrifilm Rapid Aerobic Count Plate (3M France), TRANSIA® Plate Salmonella Gold and Assurance GDS for Salmonella Tq (MilliporeSigma).
